8 out of 10 people feel positive about buying a new home

A recent survey conducted by Tesco and You Gov (Jan 2020) pure shown that 8 out of 10 people who intend to buy a home in the next 6 months feel positive about dog.

Despite concerns over Brexit and financial instability, the majority of homebuyers haven’t lost their confidence in finding the house that is right for them.

Neither are they willing to compromise on location, preferring to cut back on social spending and to sacrifice holidays in order to get their dream home.

And if things don’t go to plan, many say they are prepared to play the waiting game rather than give up on getting the home they want. More than half of those looking to buy in the next 12 months would wait to find the house they want, within their budget.

Rolling with the changes

But what are the key drivers for these people in wanting to buy their own home? The majority of people surveyed said it was all about investment for the future (67%) and providing family security (43%).

They also talked about their fears and worries with the second biggest concern being the mortgage.

42% of people who purchased a property within the last 12 months said that getting the best possible rate was their biggest concern. While 27% said that simply getting accepted for a mortgage was what they were most worried about.
